Engaged Learning
With the Jay Heritage Center as the primary collaborator, activities are structured to educate young people about the issues of environmental protection and sustainability.
The workshop educates our youth on the importance of protecting the environment. Local community youth attend a workshop that covers a variety of environmental issues. Guest speakers from Sarah Lawrence College, Jay Heritage Center and Island Current cover topics such as water pollution, soil erosion, and invasive plants. The youth then attend a fishing trip that gives them an appreciation of maintaining our waterways.
